
To start with I copied the
background layer so that I had something to work from. I then
lassoed out the background sky and changed the
levels by moving the adjusters around the
histogram. This made the blues brighter. I then did the same thing to the rest of the image so that it wasn’t overexposed. I then played with the
hue/saturation of the whole image so that the colours became
bright and
vivid. Each time I did something new to the image I made sure it was on a
new layer so that it was easy for me to delete if I made a mistake. Overall I am happy wit

h the result. The only technique I didn’t use was cropping. I chose not to do this because I would lose too much of the image, the trees and the side of the river. I made subtle changes which make the photo look real and not overedited.
